SEMINAR QuantiGene 2.0 RNA quantification

Date : 3.08. 2007
Venue : Auditorium Hall, 2nd floor, IBS
Time :10.00 am

The only way to accurately quantitiate mRNA without RNA purification, reverse transcription, or target amplification !

QuantiGene 2.0 is a reagent and probe system used together to quantify gene expression knockdown. The high throughput plate based system is a sandwich nucleic acid hybridization assay that provides a unique approach for RNA detection and quantification, by amplifying the reporter signal using branched DNA (bDNA) technology which enhances assay sensitivity to detect low gene expression genes. Branched DNA allows immediate quantification of target specific RNA molecules from a variety of sample types without RNA purification or target amplification. By measuring RNA directly from crude cell lysates, the assay avoids variations or errors inherent to extraction and amplification of target sequences. The probe set used in system produces gene-silencing assays for over 22.000 human genes.

The QuantiGene 2.0 RNA Quantification system has been used to quantitate gene expression in a variety of life science applications, including predictive toxicology, microarray validation, and RNAi knockdown. The system also contributes to biological drug discovery as an ideal for high throughput screening. By measuring RNA directly from crude cell lysate, the assay avoids variations or errors inherent to extraction and amplification of target sequences while decreasing assay preparation time. This allows pharmaceutical and academic researchers to maximize efficiency.
