Zone 1 : Ginger & Turmeric

A very intensive research has been done to identify the large number of ginger/turmeric species in Malaysia. It has been estimated that around 200 species of ginger/turmeric can be found in Malaysia especially in the jungles. There are about 100 species of ginger/turmeric found in this conservatory park which form half of the species found in Malaysia. Examples: Globa unifolia Ridl. and Zingiber spectabile Griff.
