Education and work history

She is a senior lecturer and a researcher in Pharmacology and Toxicology Unit, Department of Biomedical Sciences. She is also an associate researcher in Halal Product Research Institute, UPM. Her PhD study was in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Medicinal Chemistry), focusing on the development and synthesis of potential cancer therapeutics and diagnostic agents. Her research is mainly, but not limited to the development of potential therapeutic agents for skin-related inflammatory diseases, wound healing, antioxidant, and anticancer agents in vitro, in vivo and in silico. She is also working on the development of potential chemical probes for detecting various proteins of interest related to diseases and porcine detection for halal authentication. Besides, she also has a keen interest in the development of potential therapeutics based on Islamic medicine.
