PROGRAMME REQUIREMENT

PhD with Thesis

• Compulsory courses - Seminar Proposal (SPS 6903) and Doctoral’s Research (SPS6999).

• Students are required to pass Comprehensive Examination, which should be taken only after completion of all coursework within the 5 semesters of cumulative enrolment.

• The thesis will be examined and viva voce will be conducted in the final semester to determine the student’s competency in the field of study.

MSc with Thesis

• Compulsory courses - Seminar Proposal (SPS 5903) , Master’s Research (SPS5999) and Research Methodology ( 3 Credit )

• The thesis will be examined and viva voce will be conducted in the final semester to determine the student’s competency in the field of study.

Duration of Study

• Doctoral Degree Programmes
The minimum and maximum durations of study are two  (2) years and five (5) years respectively.
 
• Master Degree Programmes
The minimum and maximum durations of study are one (1) year and three (3) years respectively.

1. It is informed that from 2017, the Registrar's Office will use the new e-Lppt system for performance evaluation of the Implementing Group staff. The new system is known as PUTRA PERFORMANCE. In this regard, I am pleased to note that your annual workforce and work targets (SKT) will begin on August 21, 2017 (Monday) and end on August 28, 2017. Please do all to implement the process according to the period is stipulated by the Registrar's Office to prevent difficulties and to interfere with the smooth running of the IBS Secretariat and the Registrar's Office. You are requested to implement the process through the website http: //prestasi.upm.edu.my

2. Your failure to fill this e-lppt will have implications;
I. The 2017 performance appraisal process can not be implemented.
Ii. There is no annual salary movement (PGT) for 2018.
Iii. Affect the promotion / flexion / contract / retirement process after retirement.

Sukacita dimaklumkan, Portal Putra UPM kini boleh digunakan untuk mengakses pelbagai sistem aplikasi melalui satu antara muka.

Portal Putra UPM (http://portal.upm.edu.my) merupakan inisiatif Pusat Pembangunan Maklumat dan Komunikasi (iDEC) UPM bagi menyediakan kemudahan capaian atau ‘access gateway’ ke sistem aplikasi Universiti dengan menerapkan teknologi pengesahan (authentication) UPM-ID Single Sign-On (SSO).

Dengan adanya Putra Portal UPM, konsep “Single Sign-On (SSO)” diamalkan, dimana capaian kepada pelbagai sistem aplikasi dapat dibuat dengan menggunakan single ID (UPM-ID) dan paparan juga mesra peranti mudah alih.

Untuk makluman semua, sebanyak 21 sistem aplikasi telah menggunapakai konsep SSO, yang boleh dicapai melalui Portal Putra UPM (http://portal.upm.edu.my). 

Sebanyak 32 sistem aplikasi lain yang masih belum menggunapakai konsep SSO boleh juga dicapai pantas melalui ikon "NON SSO" pada Portal Putra UPM (http://portal.upm.edu.my).

YBhg. Tan Sri/Datin Paduka/Dato’/Datuk/Prof./Tuan/Puan,

Sepertimana sedia maklum semua pegawai universiti yang ingin ke luar negara (Rasmi dan Tidak Rasmi) perlulah memohon melalui Sistem Permohonan Luar Negara UPM (SPLN). 

Dalam Minit Mesyuarat Pegawai Kanan ke 99 [Minit 99.06 (a)] bertarikh 2 Jun 2016 yang telah diedarkan kepada semua Pegawai Kanan berkaitan `Pematuhan Peraturan Perjalanan Atas Tugas Rasmi Ke Luar Negara Oleh Badan Berkanun Persekutuan’, melalui Para 5 Surat Pekeliling Am Perbendaharan Bil 1 2015, SEMUA PERMOHONAN PERJALANAN RASMI KE LUAR NEGARA hendaklah dikemukakan sekurang-kurangnya 2 minggu dari tarikh perjalanan ke Pejabat Ketua Setiausaha (KSU) Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi (KPT).

Oleh itu, bagi memastikan permohonan ke luar negara RASMI dapat dihantar ke KSU mengikut tempoh, maka tempoh masa yang diperlukan untuk mendapatkan kelulusan daripada tarikh penghantaran permohonan yang lengkap diterima melalui Sistem Perjalanan Luar Negara (SPLN) http://bursar1.upm.edu.my/spln/ oleh pemohon adalah;

  1. 7 hari bekerja untuk TIDAK RASMI, dan
  2. 6 minggu untuk RASMI 

Ini akan merangkumi tempoh masa yang telah ditetapkan kepada urusetia SPLN untuk semakan, zon kewangan untuk pengesahan peruntukan (jika berkaitan), Ketua PTJ untuk sokongan permohonan sebelum ke peringkat perakuan/kelulusan Naib Canselor.

Manakala bagi permohonan RASMI merangkumi juga ke peringkat Lembaga Pengarah Universiti (LPU) dan Ketua Setiausaha (KSU) Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi (KPT).

Dilampirkan adalah garis panduan terbaharu SPLN untuk makluman dan perhatian. Garis panduan juga boleh didapati di dalam sistem SPLN.

Please be informed that the UPM Information and Communications Development Center (iDEC) will implement the UPMNet Network Access Control System. This system has been implemented and used for all WiFi networks at UPM colleges.

Any UPM citizen who wants to access the Internet, need to go through the verification process using UPM-ID.

In this regard, the IDEC has expanded its implementation location through UPM through phased implementation beginning July 19th and the Institute of Biosciences has been listed for implementation on October 25, 2017.
