Education and work history

She is an Professor in Nutritional Biochemistry specializing in Medical Biotechnology. She is also an Associate Researcher at Institute Bioscience, Universiti Putra Malaysia. Her research interest is studying the effect of bioactive compound extracted from Malaysian herbs and by-products from rice processing on cancer by using in vitro and in vivo model. Besides cancer, she also studies the effect of the compound on other non-communicable diseases such as obesity, diabetes and coronary vascular diseases. She is a life member of the Malaysian Nutrition Society and current member of the Malaysian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
