International Seminar on Multi-Scope Analytical Methods, More Than a Semantic Issue: Chromatography Techniques

5 March 2024 – International Seminar on Multi-Scope Analytical Methods, More Than a Semantic Issue: Chromatography Techniques organized by the Natural Medicines and Products Research Laboratory (NaturMeds), Institute of Bioscience (IBS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), was held at the NaturMeds A Seminar Room. The seminar was sponsored by a research grant for the National Technical Cooperation (TC) Project under the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) TC Programme, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Faizal Abdull Razis.

The guest speaker for the seminar was Prof. Dr. Horacio Heinzen, from the Faculty of Chemistry, University of the Republic, Uruguay. The seminar attracted 27 participants from UPM, including both staff and postgraduate students. The main objective of the seminar was to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the analysis of multiple traces of contaminants in various sample types (such as food, biological, and environmental samples) using chromatography techniques, which encompass single reaction monitoring (SRM), the multi-residue method (MRM), and the multi-class method. The seminar ended with a question and answer (Q&A) session and an interactive discussion between the esteemed speaker and the participants, followed by the souvenir presentation by Assoc.
